Hidden DVD - Easter eggs



Here are some Easter Eggs for movies whose titles start with a number or the Letter A.

The 10th Kingdom

On disc #1's main menu, go to "Special Features." Highlight the 1st Kingdom. Press your LEFT arrow button and go to the 3rd kingdom. Press the UP button to go to the 4th Kingdom. Press the RIGHT arrow button and a small castle appears. Press ENTER and some info about the 10th Kingdom appears. Once you have viewed this screen press the UP button which selects the magic mirror. Press ENTER to see a short movie about the 10th Kingdom. This clip is a "spoiler" if you haven't seen the main movie, yet.


1941

On disc one, go to "Language," then click on "Spoken Language." Now click on "Isolated music score." This will play the entire musical soundtrack.


The Abyss - 2 disc set

There are LOTS of hidden trailers for other movies on this disc.

On disc 2's "Special festures" section, go to "More." Click on "Trailers." Move the cursor down to the "True Lies" poster & click to see that trailer. Move the cursor up to the Aliens poster & click to see that trailer. Go to the right to see "Strange Day"'s trailer.

On disc 2's "Special festures" section, go to "Mission Components." On this screen use the arrow buttons to get above the water. Go up past the the wave and highlight the Harrier plane. Press ENTER to see a "True Lies" trailer.

There are Alien "facehuggers" on many menus. Clicking on them will usually take you to a trailer for Aliens. There is also an Aliens trailer in the "Imaging Station" listed as "Pseudopod Multi-Angle."

In the Imaging Station, Highlight "Image Gallery Menu" then click the DOWN arrow. This will lead you to a Strange Days trailer.

Finally, from the Main menu, go to Audio Options. Click on "Hydrophone Checkout" the see a Dolby Digital clip.

Adaptation

On the Main Menu, highlight "Play Movie," then press the UP button. This highlighta a phone. Press ENTER, you go to an picture with a phone number. You can call this number to leave a message about the movie.


The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai

On the main menu, move the cursor to highlight the center car. Press ENTER to see a bunch of quotes from the movie.

On the main menu, move the cursor to the center car and then press LEFT one more time. A yellow button will be highlighted. Press ENTER to see some menus layouts that were not used.

When I first saw the movie, I was intrigued by the scene with the watermelon. Evidently, I was not alone. In the "Special Features" section, click on "Deleted Scenes." Move the cursor to highlight the "Special Features" button at the bottom of the screen. Press the LEFT arrow button and highlight the watermelon. Press ENTER to see a newspaper article about Perfect Tommy's experiment with watermelons. But wait, there's more! After you read the article, press the "More" button to go to the next page. On this page, use the UP button to go to the Banzai logo. Click this to see a short clip about the watermelon.

Go from the "Special Features" menu to the second page. Click on the "Banzai Institute Archives" button. Highlight the "Special Features" button at the bottom, then press RIGHT to go to the Banzai logo. This reveals some marketing plans for the movie.



The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert

On the Main Menu, press the UP button to highlight a star icon toward the top. Press ENTER to see an article about the history of drag queens called "Lifeís A Drag."


Alien - 20th Anniversary Edition

All of the recent versions of the Alien movies have Easter Eggs. There are three of them in this movie.

On the main menu, highlight "Extra Features," press the LEFT button. This highlights a window. Press ENTER to see some crew credits for the DVD.

On the main menu, highlight "Scene Selections," press the RIGHT button. This highlights a different window. Press ENTER to see the Nostromo's flightplans and some info about the crew.

On the "Extra Features" menu, move the cursor down to the acid at the bottom of the page. Press ENTER to see Kane's report about the lifecycle of the alien.


Alien 3

On the "Special Features" menu, click on the "Making Of" selection. At the end of the clip is another feature on deleted scenes from the movie.


Alien Quadrilogy

Talk about a hidden feature, the second disc of each of the movies has a special feature that contains a credits page you can only reach by entering a password. The password for each movie's page is the release date for that movie. You will have to enter some numbers from your remote's numerical keypad.

You can access this feature on each disc's "Navigation Options" section. Here are the passwords:
Disc 2: 5 25 79, Disc 4: 7 18 86, Disc 6: 5 22 92, Disc 8: 11 26 97.

On disc 4's Main Menu, click "Post-Production." On the screen that comes up, highlight "Final Countdown," press UP button. This takes you to an interview clip called "A Boy and his Power Loader." It is a funny story of how a guy got together James Cameron.

On disc 8's "Post-Production" page two, highlight the "Back" icon. Press the DOWN button to highlight an icon at the top of the screen. This is a clip by David Prior where he describes being one of the aliens.


Alien Resurrection

On the main menu, press "Extra Features." This is a hidden in plain sight features that offers all four movie trailers.


Aliens

On main menu, press "Extra Features." Now, move the cursor down to the the vital-signs icon at the bottom of the screen. Press ENTER to see some hidden credits.


Almost Famous - The Bootleg Cut

On disc one, press "Special Features." Move the cursor to "Love Comes And Goes." Press the UP button, a picture is highlighted, Press ENTER to see an outtake of Kate Hudson mispronouncing the name Leslie.

On disc one, press "Audio." Highlight "Commentary by director Cameron Crowe," press the RIGHT button. This highlights the hole on the record, press ENTER. This leads to a Philip Seymour Hoffman and Patrick Fugit gag reel.

American Outlaws

On the discís main menu, press "Special Features." Move the cursor to the "Main Menu" icon, press Right button twice. This will highlight the outline of a pistol. Pressing ENTER will take you to a new page called "The Shooting Gallery."


American Pie

Click on the ad for the American Pie soundtrack. At the end of the ad is Tonic's music video "You Wanted More."

On the disc's main menu, press "Bonus Features." On the new page, press "Recommendations." This is another hidden in plain sight trailer feature.

American Pie 2

On the discís main menu, press "Bonus Materials." Go to the second page, Pressing the UP button will highlight the Bonus Materials icon. Press ENTER to get a special Easter Egg greeting from the stars of the movie.

Anger Management

On the Main Menu, press "Audio Setup." On the new screen, press the UP button to highlight the eyes of a at. Press ENTER to see a "making of" clip.

On the Main Menu, press "Special Features." On the new screen, press "Deleted Scenes." On the new screen, press the UP button to highlight part of the shaver. Press ENTER to hear a joke told by Adam Sandler.


Animal Farm

There is a game on this DVD. Here are some clues on how to play.

After you start the game, there is a screen which features the rules. Move the cursor to the first rule and press ENTER. This plays a short clip explaining a rule. You can then do this for all of the rules. This offers some extra options if you do this for all the rules in numerical order.


The Animal

On the discís main menu, press "Special Features." On the new screen, move the cursor to "What's in Marvin?" icon, press ENTER. This plays a clip, after the clip is over the screen comes back with the LIon highlighted. Press the UP button to highlight a red paw in the corner. Press ENTER to see a short clip of deleted scenes featuring Marvin and Dr. Wilder.


Another 9Ĺ Weeks

On the discís main menu, move the cursor to "Play Movie." Press the UP button to highlight the Trimark icon. Pressing ENTER will take you to trailers for "Kama Sutra" and "Chinese Box."


Antz

On the "Special Features" screen, move the cursor to a Dreamworks icon somewhat hidden in the grass on the right, press ENTER. This shows an alternative bunch of credits.


Apollo 13

This disc has a way to hear the complete soundtrack. Every time you press the Menu button while the disc is playing, it starts. You can advance through the soundtrack if your remote has a skip function.


Assault On Precinct 13: Special Edition

On the discís Main Menu, press "Audio Selection." On the new screen, move the cursor to the "Play" icon, press the LEFT button and a lightning bolt appears. Press ENTER to see the text of a comment by John Carpenter about how this movie changed his life.


The Astronautís Wife

On the main menu, move the cursor to the New Line icon to see some credits.

On the main menu, press "Cast and Crew." Press "Johnny Depp," then press "Don Juan De Marco" to see a trailer for that film. The same thing can be found for the listing of "A Nightmare On Elm Street." In the "Cast and Crew" screen, you can see a similar trailer link for Charlize Theron and "Trial And Error."


Atlantis: The Lost Empire

On disc two's main menu, press "Explore." Move the cursor to highlight "Animation Production," press the RIGHT button and the phrase "DVD Credits" pops up. Press ENTER to see some extra credits.


Austin Powers

On the disc's main menu, press "Cast Bios" icon, move the cursor to the Mimi Rogers biography. Press "Star Highlight" to see a filmography. Click on the "Lost In Space" icon to see the trailer.

In the same section, press Michael York to see his gag reel.

In the same section, press Mrs. Hurly to see her gag reel.


Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me

Although New Line Home Video actually advertised Dr Evil's hidden feature page on the packaging of their release of 'Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me', it is not exactly easy to find... but here's how! From the disc's main menu, go to the special features section. Now, just watch Austin do his little schtick and don't touch anything. After about one minute, Dr. Evil's space ship will come by, leaving the Evil symbol behind. Click on the symbol and you'll be treated to a number of features dedicated to the evilest masterminds of them all... including the great and infamous 20-minute comedy Central Special.
