Calima - Instrumental Latin Jazz Trio & artist
Calima is an instrumental Latin jazz trio. It features Jimmy Patton on guitar, Louisa West on flute, and
Bastos Moenho on percussion. All three of them are excellent musicians. Jimmy is known for his ability
to play two guitars are the same time. Louisa studied music in the eastern United States and performed
in many vuenues there before coming to San Diego. Born in Angola, Africa, Bastos is a self taught
percussionist and singer. He sings in his native Portuguese and in English.
Calima will be appearing at the 101 Artists' Colony in Encinitas on July 27, 2006.
They have an interesting blend of Latin jazz sounds. I really enjoyed them.
