Roger McNamee & G.E. Smith - The Flying Other Brothers Band
Roger McNamee (leader of The Flying Other Brothers Band) and G.E. Smith joined us live in studio
with a preview of their show tonight at the Belly Up Tavern. To quote a website, "the freewheeling
creative conspiracy known as the Flying Other Brothers, dedicated to breathing anarchy, energy,
enthusiasm and fun into modern music. The band has emerged as modern-day Merry Pranksters,
conjuring up an intoxicating blend of neo-psychedelic music and seamless ensemble jamming, with
a large repertoire of original tunes, classic covers, and a healthy sense of humor."
You might recognize G.E. Smith as the leader of the Saturday Night Live Band (1985-1995). He
won an Emmy while he was the SLN Music Director. He is a world-class guitar player. He has recorded
or toured with many other groups, such as Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Hall & Oates and Buddy Guy
The concert starts at 8 p.m. The address is 143 S. Cedros in Solana Beach.
