More photos from the amazing Museo de Antropologia de Xalapa, Mexico.

The origins of the bowtie?

Talk about a monkey on your back!

This reminded me of Alfred E. Newman from MAD Magazine.

This is the last picture from the Xalapa Museum.

Pictures from the town of Xalapa (also spelled Jalapa)

Several picture of the large church in Xalapa, with decorations for Dia de los Muertos.

Photos of the volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl ("Popo" and "Izta") from near Puebla. Puebla is east of the volcanoes.

More pictures of "Popo" and "Izta" from the village of Amecameca. Amecameca is west of the volcanoes and is at 7,500 feet. It lies in Popo's "danger zone." Popo had a minor eruption just a few weeks after my visit.

Itza from the center of town

The surrounding country side

Izta is in the clouds

Popo is in the clouds in the middle of the picture.

This picture shows the very top of Popo from Amecameca. It is the most I saw of it during my stay here.

Details of the western slopes of Izta.

...and finally, I made it home on November 6, 2001
